Event Description
One of the largest cities in the U.S. for hundreds of years, the Philadelphia City Archives has records dating back to the late 1600s. Join us for a Behind-the-Scenes Archives Tour, followed by lunch and an optional tour of Yards Brewery. Time for your own research also available. Some of the records include:
  • Birth and death records (1860–1915)
  • Marriage records (1885–1915)
  • Naturalization records (1794–1930)
  • City directories (various years)
  • Police, fire, water, and public works department records
  • Wills and deeds (for city property matters)
  • Photographs and architectural records
