Event Description
Second Tuesday is a lunch & learn program designed to provide professional genealogists with the latest insights and advanced knowledge in the field. Each month, a different expert will lead a session on a unique topic, offering valuable perspectives and practical guidance.
Bryan Cheeseboro is an American Civil War historian and a park ranger with the National Park Service, assigned to the Civil War Defenses of Washington. A longtime reenactor with Company B, 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, Bryan has shared his expertise through appearances on American Battlefield Trust’s Zoom Goes the History series and Antietam Live!, and as a contributor to the Emerging Civil War blog. His programs for the Rock Creek Civil War Round Table include Outside of Lincoln’s White House, The Grand Reviews of the Civil War, and The 1st U.S. Colored Infantry. He was featured in Civil War Monitor’s Spring 2021 article “The Hands-On Historian,” and has presented at the Civil War Faces Photo Show & Sale, hosted by Military Images magazine. A former board member of the Alliance to Preserve the Civil War Defenses of Washington, Bryan also joined The Tattooed Historian YouTube channel to discuss Civil War enlistment in his talk Volunteers, Substitutes, & Drafted Men.
