Event Description
This month, Elizabeth Gomoll will present "Forging Power(ful)Points: Using PowerPoint to Captivate."

Your presentation is what you say. Your slides illustrate and emphasize your points. Creative visuals keep your audience engaged so they can learn from you. Genealogists who teach often have a PowerPoint presentation to accompany their lecture. Many times, these slide presentations are a plain white background with lists of bullet points, or worse, full sentences read by the presenter to the audience. Such lectures become tedious, and attendees tune out. Thoughtfully designed slides illustrate and emphasize the key points of a lecture and keep the audience engaged. A presenter who teaches effectively will be invited back. You put a lot of work into preparing your lecture – what you will say. Your PowerPoint slides are there to illustrate and emphasize your words. Thoughtful and creatively designed slides keep your audience engaged so they will learn from you. A presenter who teaches effectively will be invited back.
