Event Description
Forensic Genealogy: Theory & Practice is arriving in our mailboxes and we’re excited to dive into this highly anticipated book together! For those who have been eagerly awaiting its release—some of us have been on the pre-order list for months—this is a fantastic opportunity to explore its rich and complex content in depth. Books like this are often most rewarding when explored collaboratively, which is why we’re launching the Forensic Theory Study Group (FORGEN) to examine its themes, concepts, and practical applications together.
Here’s the plan:
If you haven't purchased the book yet, you may do so at https://www.ngsgenealogy.org/forensic-genealogy, $45 for NGS members, $55 for non-members. (PS: If you're going to RootsTech in March or NGS in May, take your copy with you to have Michael and Catherine sign it.)
The first study group session will be on Sunday, 23 Feb, at 7 pm Eastern. This month we'll familiarize our selves with the book and discuss the preface, introduction, and glossary.
Questions? Email MidAtlanticAPG@gmail.com. Ready to sign up? Thank you for your interest, we've closed the group.
Here’s the plan:
- Format: The group will meet monthly on Sunday evening over the next 15 months. Tentative Schedule
- Focus: Each session will cover one chapter, with both a guide and a discussion leader to keep us on track.
- Expectations: To foster meaningful discussions, participants are highly encouraged to commit to attending and participating in all sessions, barring extenuating circumstances.
