Event Description
The APG Mid-Atlantic Chapter's general meetings take place on the third Wednesday of alternate months, via Zoom.
After a brief business meeting, author Joseph H. Tyson will present "My Genealogical Journal." Joe began to engage in systematic genealogical research shortly after his father's death in 1996. At that time, he had virtually no knowledge of father's grandparents. Within ten years he traced his paternal line back to 16th century Holland. Along the way, Joe found distant cousin relationships to William Penn, Theodore Roosevelt and his niece Eleanor, a major league baseball player, and others. He encountered many synchronicities and coincidences during his journey. Joe has written biographical books and articles which have heavily relied on his genealogical skills, including the most recent, The Wissahickon Monks: Their Origins, Rise, and Dissolution.
